Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy – Northern Beaches
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy is a therapeutic approach that helps individuals explore and understand the different “parts” of themselves that influence their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. These parts often hold feelings, memories, or beliefs shaped by past experiences, and sometimes they can be in conflict with one another. By developing awareness and compassion toward these inner parts, individuals can build a more peaceful and cooperative relationship within themselves, reduce internal conflict, and cultivate greater emotional resilience, self-understanding, and inner harmony. IFS can be particularly helpful for addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, and long-standing emotional difficulties. Lara Petrulis integrates IFS Therapy with Gestalt Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support emotional healing, personal growth, and increased self-awareness. This integrative approach allows therapy to address both current challenges and the underlying patterns that influence thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Sessions are available in person in Brookvale or online via Zoom, providing flexible access for adults seeking support.
